Hluhluwe Game Reserve is the largest and oldest game park in Kwazulu Natal. It is also the home of the big five. Many people are in awe of the beauty and incredibly scenic and diverse vegetation. With its rollinmg hills, and many viewpoints where one can get a birds-eye-view of the thorny bushland and the grassy plains.
Hluhluwe Game Reserve is world-renowned for bringing back the endangered species of black and white rhino from extinction. The endangered wild dog can also be found here. People must remember that the big five is actually the five most dangerous animals to hunt. For this reason, the BLACK rhino is part of the big five, and not the white! Hluhluwe Game Reserve has the highest population of black rhino and wild dog, per surface area, in South Africa.
